Sioux City is on the rise, and just keeps climbing. The Convention Center has always been a great setting for events in Sioux City, but as the city grows the need for venue space and lodging increases as well. Kinseth Hospitality Co. is in the middle of a project that will open a new Courtyard by Marriot hotel as well as expand on the existing Convention Center.

The new hotel will be five stories high and will contain 150 rooms for guests. The ballroom is 7,500 square feet and will be shared between the hotel and the Convention Center. The ballroom will bring in a new variety of events that lean more upscale, including weddings and charity events.

By updating the convention center and creating more lodging with the hotel, the intent is to attract more events and people from out of town to the Convention center that will then help bring more money into the Sioux City economy and help the area continue to grow. The updated Convention Center will attract more large, high-scale events and the hotel will ensure there is enough room to support a larger crowd while also providing supporting space and amenities to the Convention Center.
